The media and the blogosphere are all a twitter about Twitter. It's been featured in The Guardian, Daily Telegraph, Financial Times (paywall) and CNN. There's a whole lot of hype around it, most of which is bull.
Personally I've no desire to find out that my mate has just enjoyed an espresso in Cafe Nero. However, I do think it's a great way for busy and senior people to let people know what they are up to. That's why I suggested to Alan that we set up a Twitter account. We planned to do this way back in January, but Alan's been very busy on education and skills work, so we only got round to it recently. In the meantime Democrat John Edwards beat us to it in being the first senior politician to notice Twitter, long before the media became interested.
